Collaboration with Specialists
The Digital Reader allows educators to share their digital classrooms with other staff. It can be used to collaborate with other professionals, including special education teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.
The Digital Reader provides flexibility with how classrooms, teachers, and students are configured. Classrooms can have multiple teachers assigned, and students and teachers can be assigned to multiple classrooms.
We know that students are often served by multiple educators other than their homeroom teacher, and with that, the Digital Reader allows students to be enrolled in multiple classrooms. This allows homeroom teachers and other specialists to have a classroom view of the students they are supporting in their literacy education.
This allows a holistic view of the student for all teachers and specialists who are working directly with the student. All teachers and specialists will have access to view and update the student's bookshelf, book assignments, and assessments. A student's reading history and progress monitoring reports are also shared across all enrolled classrooms so that information is easily shared.
Even if a student is enrolled in multiple classrooms, the following information is available across classrooms: reading logs, word study and phonics activity history, Reading Adventures progress, and assessment data.
