Where to Find Assessments to Gather Information and Data

Reading instruction should meet a student’s needs and be based on formal and informal observations and assessments. Reading assessment informs reading instruction and plays a vital role in fostering reading growth. With built-in formative assessments, the Digital Reader assists teachers in evaluating students' letter/sound, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension skills. This diagnostic capability empowers educators to tailor literacy instruction, ensuring students receive appropriate books for independent reading.

The Assessment and Data Center provides access to tracking, resources, and reporting features to support and monitor the individualized literacy instruction to meet the needs of all students.

Each student has a page that provides a history of their assessments, supported by a visual graph showing the progress that the student has made over the school year. This page is accessible to all teachers and specialists who are working directly with the student to record and monitor the student's assessments and progress.
