A prompting guide is provided for each Digital Reader leveled book that has a lesson written for it. The prompting guide provides specific prompts and teaching points to help you differentiate instruction. To locate the prompting guide for the book you're teaching:
1. From your dashboard, click on Bookshelf.
2. Click on Literacy Footprints.
3. Click on the book you're going to teach a lesson on.
4. Look to the left rail to find the icon that looks like a piece of paper (the lesson plan).
5. Click the icon and the prompting guide will be located just under the ABC Chart Card.
*Please note, that our prompting guides are matched to the full reading stage, as described by Jan Richardson in The Next Step Forward in Guided Reading, with any exceptions noted below.
- Emergent: Levels A-C (prompting guides are not posted with Beginner Steps lessons.)
- Early: Levels D-I
- Transitional: Levels J-P (through Q in the Third Grade Kit)
- Fluent: Levels O and above (in the Fourth and Fifth/Sixth Grade Kits)
