What Happens after My Student Completes an Assigned Book?

Teachers and students have different views of the Digital Reader, so when a student completes an assigned book, it can seem like the book disappears from their dashboard. While a teacher can still view a completed book in Book Assignments, for a student, when they read an assigned book and check it as read on the final page, it automatically moves to the student's Book Bag.

Here's how it works:

  1. The teacher assigns the book to the student (usually for instruction).
  2. The student reads the book and marks it as read on the final page.
  3. Once marked as read, the assigned book automatically moves to the student's Book Bag for rereading. At this point, it is no longer on the student's assignment list.
  4. The book stays in the teacher's assignment list until the teacher marks the assignment complete since the assignment may represent more than just the student's reading but also the completed guided reading instruction.

If at any time you would like to view what your student is viewing, look for the Mask icon to enter masquerade mode. For more information, please see Is There a Way to See What My Student Is Seeing When They Log In?
