Student Rostering: Adding Students Returns Possible Student Matches

When adding a student, existing student matches will populate under the Possible Student Matches section. This functionality is particularly beneficial for districts and schools that have their teachers do all their own classroom rostering because it allows admins and teachers to search for and add existing students to classrooms without needing to manage import files!

The matches are based on the fields Student's Name, Student ID, and Single Sign-On Email.

Typing information into the form will update the possible matches, displaying up to five matching results. The possible matches will indicate name, Student ID, and email, as well as current school, classroom, teacher, and grade to help identify the correct student. Please note that current school, classroom, teacher, and grade may be the student's previous term assignment if they are not yet assigned to a classroom for the current term.

To select and add an existing student based on a possible student match, click the +Add Student icon in the Action column to review and edit any information about the student.

If the student is not an existing student in the district, you can still use the Add Student button at the bottom of the page to create a new student.

If a Lock icon is in the Action column, that indicates that the student cannot be added to the classroom. Possible reasons for this are that the student has already been assigned to a classroom or there has been a change in the student's school. To prevent adding duplicates, please reach out to your school or district admin for assistance. If you click on the Lock icon, a pop up will appear with your admins' email addresses for easy contact.

If no results are returned and you believe this to be in error, try editing the search criteria in case the name, Student ID, or email are incorrect. Try using a partial name search, such as "Rob" instead of "Robyn." If you are still having trouble, we recommend checking with the District Admin(s) who manages your account to see if the student may be assigned to the incorrect school or classroom.
